Check-In Day

I met all of my roommates on Facebook and we decided to meet on check-in day.  One girl, Sam got there around 5:30am and I met her at 5:45am.  The other two girls, Bridget and Brynn, got there around 6:30am, which was the time we were told to start showing up.  Yeah, right.  On the Facebook group people made for our arrival date, people said they were going to show up around 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning.  When Sam got there, she was on the corner.  This is where we were in line:

And at around 6:30am,7:00am this was the line behind us:

At around 7:30am, they opened the gates to Vista Way apartment complex, where we were supposed to check-in (we were waiting outside) and we started to walk in, seeing signs to welcome us all the way there (it was a pretty long walk to the check-in building).

Walking!

Welcome Center, this way!

I think it’s safe to say that we are at the Welcome Center and we are welcomed here.

At the Welcome Center, we stood in line to get sticker nametags that kind of looked like a Disney nametag.  This way all cast members who greeted us could call us by our first name.  We then moved into the building, checked our personal info, and stood in line to get our Program Guide.

Next we were off to housing.  We had to choose one person from our group of roommates to be the representative of our group for choosing what housing complex we will live in.  Of course, my group volunteered me.  We wanted a 2 bedroom (for 4 people) in the Patterson apartment complex, but there were only 3 bedroom apartments available.  I didn’t think my roommates would want to add 2 random people to our group, so I chose to go into Chatham.  We ended up getting an apartment on the 2nd floor in a building that is in the corner of the complex, making for a very quiet area, which is all we wanted out of living in Patterson.  I then joined my other roommates, we picked up our keys and signed housing forms, and then got our Housing IDs! :

We quickly went through the last room of car registration and were whisked off to Casting!!!

CASTING

We went through casting, which basically told us what job we were going to have & went through our I-9 and criminal background check.  Afterward, we took the bus back to Vista and moved into our new apartment in Chatham.  We took the rest of the day to slowly move in and unpack everything.  That night I stayed in the apartment with my new roommates.

The next day, Tuesday, my dad and I drove around everywhere and found everything I would ever need to go to: Walmart, Target, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, the Comissary, the bank, etc.  Next was a housing event to go over the rules of the housing complexes.  That night, Dad took me out to Olive Garden for dinner for a last hurrah.  I spent the night in the hotel because I had to take Dad to the airport at 3:30am so he could catch his flight.

And then I was on my own!
